Heels are one of the most essential fashion items in a woman’s wardrobe but if you have them and you can’t use them because of the pain it causes, it becomes a problem.

Wear The Right Size: When we say wear the right size, we mean wear your perfect size, not an inch more or lesser. Have your feet measured before buying a heel. When the shoe is properly fitted, you will be able to lift the shoe without feeling any pain.

Know Your Feet Type: You can visit a specialist to know your foot type, it would help you shop for the right shoes that are perfect for your foot. If you can’t afford a specialist, you can just wet your foot and step onto a piece of construction paper. When you make an impression, it will show you how much your foot is flattening or how high of an arch you have.

Get A Thicker Heel: The thicker the heel of the shoe, the better. Stilettos are beautiful but they would make your feet wobble especially if they are worn for long. With thicker heels your feet get less hurt which means less pain.

Get Shoes With Platforms: Thin soles will almost always give you pain on the bottom of your foot. To avoid pains, get a thicker sole or a little bit of a platform which will offset some of the pressure when you’re walking. A rubbery material will be perfect because it can absorb that pressure.

Try Shoes With More Coverage: Some shoes with thin coverage are beautiful but can make uncomfortable easily if you stand for too long. It is advisable to wear heels that has more coverage so your foot can be held together in one place, thus avoiding pain.

Take Breaks: You should always take breaks by pulling off your shoe or sitting so your foot can relax from the pressure. Just make sure during this break you are applying pressure on your foot as this would prevent pains after a long while of wearing the heels.

Stretch Your Feet After Taking The Shoes Off: As soon as you get an opportunity to take off your shoe completely, stretch your feet afterwards. Your stretches should target the front of the foot and ankle, like pointing your toes down and pulling your toes up with a strap to get the Achilles’ tendon and the calf muscles and then side to side to get to the instep and the outside of the foot.
